When I moved from Pittsburgh to Du Bois, located in northcentral Pennsylvania, I never expected to evolve into a lover of Southwestern/Western style jewelry, clothing and decor but I surely did. As my daughter would say, I cowgirled up! Truthfully, It's more of a southwestern/Adirondack combination but wear your cowboy hat and boots and you'll be a perfect fit.
Dan and I make our home at the "Spa", as my daughters affectionately call our hideaway in the woods. When the girls or our friends (mostly from Pittsburgh) come to visit we always make them feel at home. The Spa is where they come for horseback riding, canoe trips, boating, fly fishing, bass fishing, hunting, bubble baths, hiking, geocaching, bonfires, karaoke, home cooking (everyone cooks), cookie baking, turkey frying or smoking, maple sugar making, chainsaw festivals and some
well deserved relaxing. It is where they come to rejuvenate themselves and get away from
Each piece of my jewelry is a unique, original design that is hand-crafted using quality semi-precious stones, lampwork glass and Czech pressed glass beads and some Swarovski crystals.
Though silver or gold-colored features are offered, I prefer to use copper accents. Real gold or silver will be marked as such. Turquoise is mined where copper is found. I like the warm, comforting look and feel of copper in conjunction with its natural neighbor, turquoise.
Although not exclusively so, my personal preference is to work with stones in their natural shape, i.e. nuggets and chips, chunks and lumps. I favor the naturally mined shapes for their irregularity. I get pleasure from imagining that this is just the way they came out of the earth, with minimum alteration, until I decide to work with them and arrange them in a special design for you.
